At the same time, the department is considering introducing a financial incentive program for doctors who register suspected vaccine-related complications in the relevant database.

The new facility is located at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. According to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the initiative reflects the Donald Trump administration’s efforts to take patients experiencing health complications following vaccination seriously.

“We must listen to patients and their families who report adverse events following vaccination — we must not dismiss their concerns. President Trump and I are building a healthcare system that takes them seriously, relies on evidence, and uses the knowledge gained to improve vaccine safety. This is how we will restore public trust in public health institutions,” Kennedy said in an official statement.

It is worth noting that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has spent years promoting scientifically discredited theories linking vaccines to autism. More recently, speaking at a conference organized by the anti-vaccine group Children’s Health Defense, he linked vaccines to an epidemic of chronic diseases and claimed that they cause various serious conditions, including diabetes, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), asthma, autoimmune disorders, and allergic reactions.

Under the new regulations, HHS plans to reimburse doctors for expenses incurred when submitting reports of suspected complications to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). In addition, attaching the patient’s electronic medical record to these reports will become mandatory.

For context, VAERS is a voluntary, self-reporting system in which submitted reports are not independently verified. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), information in the database may be incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental, or unverified.

THE HILL

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has established a new clinic to investigate health problems that develop following vaccination.
