It is over a century old and today unites 12,000 members across 80 countries. The association&#8217;s mission is to strengthen the role of women in medicine and deepen international cooperation in the healthcare field. MWIA has been accredited by the WHO since 1954 and by the UN since 1987, and actively collaborates with both.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Today, following a secret ballot conducted at the MWIA General Assembly in Egypt, Georgia was named the host for the 2028 Congress and General Assembly. This victory gains particular significance against the backdrop of strong competition from China and India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the President of the Georgian Medical Women&#8217;s Association, Nino Zhvania, &#8220;Every international activity is of utmost importance for us, to increase Georgia&#8217;s visibility.&#8221; Such ambition will significantly strengthen Georgia&#8217;s position on the international stage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Following the voting results, MWIA General Secretary Mariam Jashi, who was actively involved in the process, celebrated the emotional victory: &#8220;It is unbelievable, but Georgia won!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This achievement is truly of strategic importance for Georgia; it ensures the country&#8217;s international recognition and creates long-term prospects for professional development.
