To expand access to oncological medications, the government has signed a new contract worth $17 million with the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche. This agreement ensures the continuous supply of high-tech drugs and stable access to the latest medical services for patients through 2028.

The centralized procurement model implemented since 2023 is of strategic importance for the country. It aims to establish global standards for treatment and reduce mortality rates. Through direct partnerships with two leading pharmaceutical giants—Roche and Novartis—the state ensures the optimization of budgetary resources and secures preferential pricing on medications. The 21 types of medications purchased under the program, most of which are innovative drugs, provide a real guarantee for increasing the life expectancy and quality of life for patients.

The scale of the project is further confirmed by its financial indicators: between 2023 and 2025, the total investment for providing oncological medications amounts to 163 million GEL. According to existing data, the largest share of the budget was distributed among the leading manufacturers—105 million GEL paid to Roche and 58 million GEL to Novartis. The centralized procurement model provides the state with a solid lever to ensure an uninterrupted supply of the latest generation of medicines for patients.
