Founded in 2017, RareGene is a premier genetic diagnostics laboratory dedicated to continuous growth and excellence. Since its inception, the company has aimed to provide the population of Georgia with access to international-standard, high-quality genetic testing and advanced diagnostic services. By actively collaborating with world-leading laboratories, introducing innovative technologies, and continually expanding its service portfolio, RareGene offers patients and physicians cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities in reproductive, clinical, and rare genetic diseases.
A core focus of the company is advancing reproductive genetics, fostering scientific research, and raising public awareness. RareGene strives to be a trusted partner for patients and physicians at every stage of reproductive health and family planning.
As a testament to the collaborative scientific efforts of RareGene and Georgian physicians, a major international milestone was achieved with a presentation at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) in London.

The study presented at the congress comprised a cohort of 864 Georgian patients. For the first time in Georgia, the results of expanded carrier screening and the unique genetic characteristics of the Georgian population were comprehensively evaluated.
Preliminary findings revealed significant genetic insights specific to the Georgian population, further underscoring the vital role of expanded genetic carrier screening in reproductive medicine. These data facilitate more precise reproductive risk assessment, improve the quality of genetic counseling, and empower patients to make well-informed decisions during family planning.
This research marks a significant milestone in advancing reproductive genetics in Georgia, accumulating local scientific data, and positioning the country prominently within the international scientific community. RareGene remains committed to supporting scientific research, deepening international collaboration, and promoting evidence-based genetic medicine to ensure that modern genetic technologies and scientific breakthroughs are fully accessible to Georgian patients and healthcare professionals.
