In Uzbekistan, in the suburbs of Tashkent, one of the most large-scale projects of recent years—the international innovative medical city “Tashkent Medical Smart City”—will be implemented in the near future.

The project is being carried out by the South Korean company HAEAHN Architecture, which plans to invest $5 billion in the construction. To realize this idea, a land plot covering 400 hectares has been allocated in the “Dustlik” area of the Yukorichirchik district of the Tashkent region.

The following facilities will be constructed on the territory of the future city:

  • A large-scale international-level medical institution to receive medical tourists.
  • A modern medical center and an emergency medical assistance center.
  • A branch of a well-known Korean international medical university.
  • An international school specializing in the medical field and a pre-school educational institution.

A special part of the project will be a Korean-style quarter—featuring cultural, commercial, and gastronomic streets, as well as tourist attractions. Furthermore, the construction of business and shopping centers, hotels, and modern multi-apartment residential complexes is planned.

The implementation of the project is scheduled to take place from 2025 to 2034. According to preliminary estimates, after all facilities are launched, more than 7,000 new jobs will be created.

The establishment of the “Tashkent Medical Smart City” is a step towards forming a strong hub for medical tourism and a modern healthcare infrastructure in Uzbekistan. The project aims to attract both local and foreign specialists and patients, which will provide a significant impetus to the economic and social development of the region.
