U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. launches his own podcast, which he claims will usher in a “new era of radical transparency” in government.
The show, titled “The Secretary Kennedy Podcast,” is set to debut next week. In it, the Secretary will discuss pressing public health issues alongside doctors, scientists, and government agency employees.
In a promotional video filmed in a branded HHS (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) studio, Kennedy declares that the podcast will serve as a platform to expose the corruption and lies that have harmed the health of Americans. “We will name the forces that are creating obstacles on the path to public health,” says Kennedy Jr.
Health Department officials explained that this initiative is part of the Donald Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) strategy. According to them, this marks the first time a podcast hosted by a sitting cabinet member has become an official form of government communication.
The launch of this new media project coincides with several significant developments, including a strategic rebranding of the agency. Amid criticism and legal disputes surrounding vaccination policy, the department is shifting its focus toward combating chronic diseases and improving food quality.
Furthermore, the context of the upcoming November midterm elections is shaping the podcast’s themes, which will focus on healthcare accessibility and nutrition—issues that are high priorities for voters across the political spectrum.
Meanwhile, some experts remain critical, fearing that the podcast format—which often lacks tough questioning—could become an official source for spreading misinformation and ideas that run counter to scientific consensus.
Episodes of the show will be released biweekly. It has already been announced that one of the first guests will be celebrity chef Robert Irvine, who is currently working on reforming U.S. Army food rations.
