The University Clinic of Mental Health of Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) has officially opened. The new medical center will play a vital role in providing high-quality services to patients, as well as in strengthening medical education and the training of future specialists in the country.
At the opening ceremony, particular emphasis was placed on the necessity of developing mental health services and increasing their accessibility. It was noted that the existence of such university clinics is critically important for establishing modern standards, which involves creating a patient-oriented environment and implementing innovative treatment methods.
The new clinic brings together more than 100 specialists from various profiles, enabling a multidisciplinary approach. The center is focused on the individual needs of each patient, ensuring integrated and comprehensive services during both the diagnostic and subsequent rehabilitation stages.
In its initial phase, the University Clinic of Mental Health will provide outpatient services to patients. Simultaneously, the inpatient licensing process is actively underway, which will allow the facility to offer a broader range of medical assistance to beneficiaries in the near future.
The official opening was attended by leadership from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, the TSMU administration, and representatives from the legislative and executive branches of government. Additionally, heads of various university and partner clinics participated in the event, expressing positive assessments of the new center’s potential within the medical field.
